- Supervise and mentor classroom assistants, ensuring a cohesive team approach that follows Montessori principles and maintains a peaceful atmosphere
- Consistently model grace and Courtesy, fostering a classroom culture built on mutual respect, empathy, and peaceful conflict resolution.
- Provide targeted, one-on-one and small-group presentations of Montessori materials across the curriculum, following the child's unique developmental pace
- Supervise small and large group activities that take place both indoor and outdoor
- Design and facilitate age-appropriate activities that support the cognitive, physical, and social development of the children aligned with Ontario’s HDLH framework
- Support the children with developing their pro-social skills such as sharing, problem solving and cooperation through play-based and Montessori inspired learning
- Conduct daily clinical observations of each child’s progress and maintain detailed records to guide individualized lesson planning
- Assist children in washroom routines, dressing, and lunchtime
- Maintain a hygienic/safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment in compliance with CCEYA
- Partner with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and educational workshops to support the child’s development at home
- Follow health, safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and reflective practice
- Energetic, motivated, and dynamic teacher with a passion for early learning
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with young children in a childcare or early learning setting
- MACTE certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (clear and current)
- Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification
- Strong understanding of child safety, supervision, and positive guidance strategies
- Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- TB Test; Immunization - TDP and MMR
- Experience Developing age appropriate Montessori curriculum
- RECE Certification an asset
