Position: VOLUNTEER, Graphic Designer – Marketing Team (3 Positions)

 Status: Part-Time, Volunteer
Weekly Time Commitment: 5–10 hours
Location: Primarily Remote
Department: MAX Marketing
Reports To: Lead, MAX Marketing

Role Overview

MAX is seeking a creative and strategically minded Graphic Designer to elevate the organization’s visual identity across all digital platforms. This role is central to ensuring that MAX’s messaging is not only clear, but visually compelling and consistent. The Graphic Designer will translate program initiatives, community engagement efforts, and marketing campaigns into polished visual assets that strengthen brand recognition and audience engagement. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining creativity with structure and wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing community-focused organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design digital assets including social media graphics, promotional materials, presentations, and campaign visuals
  • Develop and maintain branded templates for consistent communications
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to align visuals with messaging and strategy
  • Support creation of professional decks for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure visual consistency across all digital channels


Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–3 years of graphic design experience (professional or volunteer)
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools
  • Strong presentation design skills (PowerPoint / Google Slides)
  • Understanding of branding, layout, and typography principles
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, collaborative environment
  • Ability to manage multiple design requests and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with nonprofit, startup, or community-based organizations is an asset but not required


Portfolio Requirement

  • A portfolio is required and must include relevant digital and print design samples
  • Portfolio may be submitted as a website link or PDF
  • Applications without a portfolio will not be considered
