Role Purpose
The Vice President, Engagement & Storytelling leads MSF’s storytelling, content creation, and engagement initiatives. This role ensures that the impact of scholarships, recipient achievements, and sponsor contributions is captured and communicated effectively, ethically, and in alignment with MSF’s mission and values. The VP will also guide and mentor a team of volunteers to deliver high-quality content and engagement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a cohesive storytelling and engagement strategy aligned with MSF’s mission
- Lead and mentor a team of volunteers, including Content & Storytelling Leads (1–2) and a Digital & Media Coordinator (1), providing guidance, support, and accountability to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Work with sponsors and recipients to create high-quality content, including:
- Written stories and blog features
- Short videos and social media reels
- Achievement highlights and milestones
- Coordinate content that highlights recipient journeys, program impact, and sponsor contributions
- Ensure all content is ethical, consent-based, and aligned with MSF’s values
- Collaborate with the Managing Director on sponsor stewardship narratives
- Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer to distribute and showcase stories across social media platforms
- Oversee the workflow and task management of the content team to ensure deadlines are met and initiatives are executed effectively
Qualifications / Ideal Profile
- 7–10 years of experience in communications, storytelling, media, marketing, or related fields
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a team
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Sensitivity to equity-informed and consent-based storytelling practices
- Creative, collaborative, and self-directed, with the ability to guide volunteers and achieve organizational objectives

What This Role Is Not
- Not responsible for planning or executing events
- Not responsible for day-to-day sponsor relationship management
